If you have time to work with your child this can be done by making up a set of flashcards. It's good to start with mastering the 2's, 5's, and 10's (up to 10 in each case, so 2x10 being the highest of the 2's), then the 3's, 4's, and 9's and then finally the 6, 7 and 8's. Another way besides flashcards is to play a game with cards. Remove the face cards from a deck of cards and then split the deck roughly in half. You and the student each flip a card, give the student about three seconds to multiply the two numbers and then answer yourself. If they get it right before you do then they get the two cards. If they don't then you do. Sort of like the card game war, the bigger your pile the better you're doing.
